Three weeks ago, my little sister helped this poor little birdie whose entire tail & most of right wing feathers were plucked (probably by a cat or a crow). Of course, she could not fly & only able to hop around.
Today, I’m happy to hear that they were finally able to release her. They told me that the bird flew up like a rocket, perched on a nearby branch, & sang from her heart😃 The pic was taken by my sister just before the release.

This is very astute meta-analysis. This framework helps to better understand a lot of what he is doing.
Wouldn't it be easy to use soft power asymmetrically against somebody who doesn't understand it? Putin seems to secure a lot of political wins by just being pleasant (although we don't know what oligarch dreams are being peddled).
With the update to #Pixelfed 0.12.5, I was finally able to export all my statuses. Before that, there was a hard limit of 500. Even though I only had about 170 posts of my own, all shares and likes and stuff counted into that balance, hence no download for me. Yet.
Now that I got a nice .json file, I used Excel to convert this into a usable table. Yeah, I know, Excel! But LibreCalc doesn’t understand .json and I have to use Microsoft shit at work anyhow. So why not take advantage of that?
The Pixelfed export contains not only texts, but also the URLs for all images. Copy that column of URLs to a text file, push it through WGET et voilà, a directory full of joy.
All I have to do is write a short macro which takes the available info from the spreadsheet and creates separate .md files for use in #Hugo or whatever platform I want to show the images on.
Since I don’t need any Pixelfed-specific functions, I can now close down my two instances. Future images will go to #Friendica and – via another script yet to be written – also to my blog.

It is time for a brain drain away from the US.
Even if we were able to resurrect and elect Richard Feynman as the next US president, the damage that's being done will not be corrected within a single term.
The idea of trustworthy stability of anything in the US is gone. Flip-flopping between moderate sanity and insanity every four years isn't acceptable. *If* trust is ever to be regained (and I'm pessimistic), it will take at least decades of stability to begin to restore things.
