I'm rebuilding my small web / community software toolkit on my new laptop.

I need suggestions for software that's worth using! What's the graphical gemini client of choice these days? The tui client?

What's your preferred tui music player? I've been a cmus user for years, but I'm willing to entertain other options.

zeitverschreib [friendica] hat dies geteilt.

Amfora (github.com/makew0rld/amfora) is a rather nice console-based Gemini client. The keyboard shortcuts are well designed and it's quite stable.

So many of my gemini bookmarks from 1 - 2 years ago appear to be entirely offline.

😦

What's out there now?

I tried also replying with this, but it seems federation with instances not contacted before is a bit glitchy: hd.206267.xyz/post/019949ae-44…

@Andrew (Television Executive) I should probably highlight this place too and the software for it (#Tootik), since it's basically across between #SNAC2 and #Honk, but only accessible over #GeminiProtocol...

@ddlyh I can't seem to make that link work. I get an error that says I need to register and then another that says oops.

I ended up with ubuntu studio 2022.04lts, as it's probably the most used multimedia bundle. from there the idea is to create tutorials and comunity projecs via the @studi0 channel.

Graphical Gemini client is probably still Lagrange as it supports stuff like Spartan and that Gemini extension thing for forms too. For a command line/tui, I tend to use Astro (or rather, "Ashtro" - my fork that works with busybox ash instead of bash).

Still my preferred tui music player: mp3blaster

Current graphical Gemini client: Geminaut
