Switch from cron to systemd on Yunohost

!Friendica Admins

Has anyone of you switched their Friendica instance on #Yunohost to systemd setup?

I found two tutorials, but they seem to deal with the standard installation:

Friendica relies heavily on worker processes for doing things like federation, cleaning up the database, and many other tasks. It can either be run as a periodically running system cron job or in a daemon mode.

@zeitverschreib [friendica] use the daemon, as @Hank G ☑️ explains in your link.
He has a very thorough setup, so I think that should work fine. But first disable the cronjob and try the daemon without the whole setup to see it works well.

Yes I use it too. Much better. I even proposed the change to the YNH devs but I don't think anyone is interested in friendica there to be honest :D - and I do not have the skills to do the change myself for the package.

There are many other packages on ynh that get a lot more attention. Friendica was left behind for like a year before I insisted to update and we fixed some stuff so that it was not broken. From my experience with ynh, friendica is one of those packages that almost no one is interested in. Not accusing anyone, ynh is amazing, but that's the reality.

@Tio yes, I am not accusing as well, just a bit frustrated too. I am not so well in trouble shooting those undocumented packages. I need to figure out which files a particular package installs and such things. I need to troubleshoot why the vaultwarden (bitwarden replacment) package is broken, but I never did anything like that.
