Both are criminals. Except that the fake agent may not be able to perform an unlawful deportation.

in March 2025, the first time I read about the intentional lack of identification with „federal agents“, I asked how to know then it wasn't some thugs trying to perform a crime.

Seems there is no sensible nor an intelligent answer.

copy cat criminals have been a TV & movie plot line for decades.
