Is there any setting in #GraphenOS which might prevent apps from using Bluetooth audio input?

My problem is that audio output is routed to any given BT device just fine. I can listen to podcasts, audiobooks and also receive calls, but instead of using the microphone on the headset, input is always routed from the phone's internal mic.

I guess I can exclude hardware issues on the headphones, as I have tried with three different ones. All of them work just fine on an iPad as well as a phone running CalyxOS.

When using a DJI Mic Mini, I can set OpenCam to use this audio input via USB-C, so it seems that not all external audio sources are disabled.

Hardware involved: Pixel 7a, Shokz, Airpods, Sony WH-CH520.

GrapheneOS makes absolutely no changes to how any of this Bluetooth functionality works. It works the same way as AOSP. It works well for other users and you can see for yourself that it's working well for others by searching discuss.grapheneos.org/ for feedback about Bluetooth.

You have issues with the configuration on your device that are not caused by a problem with Bluetooth input in GrapheneOS. It's not an issue with the OS but rather a particular setup causing a problem.

If you're using multiple users, then the way Bluetooth interacts with those could be causing the issues you're having. It works the same way with GrapheneOS as it does for AOSP and the stock Pixel OS. If you've only adopted using secondary users on GrapheneOS then you may not be used to the quirks they have in general. We fix some of the issues with them but definitely not everything. Consider Private Space if you aren't already using it to replace 1 secondary user.

CalyxOS is based on AOSP exactly like GrapheneOS and does not have a different way of handling Bluetooth input. CalyxOS is not a hardened OS and does not provide similar privacy or security to GrapheneOS. They make misguided changes which compromise privacy/security rather than improving it such as the leaky network and VPN toggles from LineageOS. They do not properly keep up with updates or preserve the security model.

@GrapheneOS Thanks for the input.

If there's no additional setting to enhance security then yes, it's got to be a problem with my device.

Just wanted to make sure that I didn't flip any switch I shouldn't have flipped.

We have no setting to change it and don't do any changes to how Bluetooth works beyond fixing a user interface bug where it can give all your contacts to a hands-free calling device even if you have it disabled. We don't change anything about audio. There are known upstream issues with secondary users combined with Bluetooth though if you're using multiple users though.
