I'm about to come into possession of a Pixel 6a. I'm finally where I can dump Google's Android for something else. But I am torn between using LineageOS or GrapheneOS. Which way should I go? Please help me decide.

if people tell you, grapheneOS has good app compatibility, they talk about grapheneOS with sandboxed play services. That's not my way of dumping Google spyware. @christopher

Hatte erst LineageOS, jetzt GraphenOS. Finde GraphenOS besser.

GrapheneOS all the way. It is more secure than the others you mentioned and google being sandboxed without elevated privileges (only if you want google installed) gives you control of your device.

@As The World Turns I really don't want Google installed, but unfortunately, I probably will still need Google Maps.
And I don't know how many things there will be that might need Play Services, but I'm going to start off trying to use no Google anything.

I've run both Lineage and GrapheneOS. I like both.

But whenever GrapheneOS is an option (it only supports Pixel devices), I greatly prefer it, for the various additional permissions options.

I feel more comfortable running apps I don't completely trust, on GrapheneOS, since I can deny them permissions more granularly.
